Julia Fiona Roberts' parents are Walter Grady Roberts and Betty Lou Bredemus. Roberts is part of four generations of the Robertses who reside in the Atlanta area, starting by her grandfather John Pendleton Roberts a farmer. At an early age, her dad became fascinated by theatre. When he was a student at Emory University he appeared in various productions both at and off the campus. After he enlisted in the Air Force in Biloxi, he was seen alongside Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. Eric Anthony was their first born. The couple was married in the year. The couple divorced in 1957. the military and Walter enrolled at Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. Walter was recruited to work for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to assist on the stage of the television show Bum Bum His Buddies. The show was filmed in Decatur Georgia. Walter as well as Betty Lou began producing a children's television program in the city of Decatur, Georgia titled Bum Bum and His Buddies. They financed the production their own. In the following year, they established the Actors and Writers Workshop which was in operation for a period of six years. Lelisa Billingsley often referred to as Lisa was born in the year 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
