Kari Sam Wuhrer was born on April 28, 1968, is an American Actress and Singer. Wuhrer made her acting debut in her teens. Her best-known character was as Maggie Beckett from the TV show Sliders and also for her role as the character Sheriff Samantha Parker on the horror film Eight Legged Freaks. She is the youngest of three children. She began singing in nightclubs as a teenager and often would leave her house in order to perform. When she began studying acting at Wooster School from the age of 13, she studied drama in New York University's Tisch School of the Arts located at Marymount Manhattan College and Columbia University. Then, she took classes in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts under renowned Uta Hagen. She was an Brookfield resident born in Brookfield Connecticut in the 28th day of April, 1967. Kari is the daughter of the father of a German American as well as a mother from Germany. Kari was born into an extended family with four children. When she was a teenager, she sang at nightclubs and then slipped away to perform. In the year she turned 13 old, Kari studied acting at the Wooster School, then enrolled in drama studies at Tisch School of the Arts in New York University, Columbia University, Marymount Manhattan College; plus, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and renowned instructor Uta Hagen. Kari started acting at the age of a teenager. Her breakthrough was in 1987 when she played MTV Remote Control.
