Allison Janney

AllisonAllison Brooks Janney (born November 19th, 1959)[2] is an American actress. Over 30 years, she's famous for her roles in different genres of screen and stage. Janney has been nominated for two Tony Awards and has been recognized with the Academy Award as well as a British Academy Film Award. Janney was born and raised in Dayton and Boston by her parents got a scholarship from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art to pursue her studies following finishing Kenyon College. Janney became a television star in 1999 as C. J. Cregg who played the character in NBC's drama series The West Wing (2000-2006). She received four Primetime Emmy Awards for this part. The year 2014 saw her win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding guest actor in a Drama Series due to her performance as Margaret Scully on the Showtime period drama Masters of Sex.
